Let’s be honest: choosing a good facial cleanser can be a challenge.
And in a lot of cases, you’ll only end up finding the perfect solution to discover that it’s a bit too pricey for your budget. Or worse, you could soon find out that the formula has been changed, or the product is off the market completely.
Well, some of these apply to one of my all-time favorite cleansers – the Fresh Soy Fаce Cleanser.
I’m excited about writing this article as I’m about to share with you six cheaper Fresh Soy Face Cleanser dupes that will change your life (well, at least your skincare spending, which isn’t a small step at all).
Why do people love the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser?
The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is a gentle product designed for dry, combination, and normal skin and is formulated with non-irritating ingredients.
It cleanses the face to perfection with a pH that is close to the natural skin levels, meaning that it doesn’t strip away the moisture and good oils from your skin. The product doesn’t contain any fragrance, it’s non-comedogenic so it won’t clog your pores, and it’s also hypoallergenic with gentle surfactants.
I personally love the milky, gel-like, creamy consistency. It’s extremely easy to use and also has the dual effect of hydrating the skin. Some of the core problems the product tackles are dryness, uneven skin texture, and dullness.
When it comes to ingredients, the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser boasts an extensive list of invaluable compounds. Some of the star ingredients include soy proteins – to help tighten the skin, cucumber extract – to calm and soothe the skin, and aloe vera – to deeply moisturize and soothe irritation. It also contains rosewater, which tones the skin.
Why look for an alternative to the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser?
So considering all of the above, why would anyone look for a replacement for such a lovely product?
Well, the truth is that it comes down to two reasons – price and formulation.
The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is considered to be a bit more expensive than your average cleanser. It costs $48 for an 8.45 oz bottle (250ml), which means that it’s priced at $5.68 per oz and $0.19 per ml respectively.
While some skincare enthusiasts are prepared to spend this type of money on a cleanser, for others the price is a bit too high, especially when you have in mind that this is just a single product from your skincare routine, which you use daily. And one that you wash off your face at that.
Moreover, some people report that the formula has changed and is currently not what it used to be. The original formula contained PEGs, which are used in skincare as thickeners, solvents, softeners, and moisture carriers, but the brand changed its whole preservative system.
Furthermore, the soy proteins included in the formula have been improved to offer more elasticity.
Although the changes in the formula intend to make the product better, from personal use, I noticed that it wasn’t working for me the same way as before. My skin felt that it needed additional cleansing, which motivated me to search for the best substitutes for the original Fresh Soy Face Cleanser.
Below, I share my findings with you.
6 More Affordable Fresh Soy Face Cleanser Dupes
Top choice: Yes To Cucumbers Gentle Milk Cleanser
The Yes To Cucumbers Gentle Milk Cleanser is one of my top recommendations for an alternative to the Fresh Soy cleanser.
It contains cucumber extract, aloe, and green tea, which help it cleanse the skin from accumulated dirt, makeup, and other impurities, calm any irritations, and hydrate. I love green tea in skincare – my skin is prone to acne, so having this antioxidant around really shows a difference in how severe my acne is.
Benefits:
- The product not only cleanses nicely but also calms and soothes the skin while not stripping it from invaluable moisture.
- One of the standout ingredients in the formula is soy protein, which promotes skin elasticity and makes you look and feel young and fresh at all times. It’s super moisturizing! It’s also a key ingredient in the original Soy Face Cleanser by Fresh, which only makes this dupe similarly as good.
What I like:
- I love the texture – it’s creamy and doesn’t foam. It’s super gentle on the skin and its ingredients allow it to cleanse but not at the expense of stripping away the skin of its natural barrier.
- It’s much more affordable than the Fresh Soy cleanser, costing around $10 for a 5.98 oz bottle (177 ml).
- The cleanser is completely vegan and cruelty-free.
- The packaging is nice and large, meaning that you get a decent amount of product for a great price. If you use it twice a day regularly you can probably enjoy a single bottle for around two months.
- It’s formulated without any parabens, silicons, or SLS, for those of you looking to avoid them.
What to have in mind:
- If you pay attention to the packaging, it’s worth noting that it’s not as luxurious-looking as the one of the Fresh Soy Cleanser.
- Unlike the original Fresh Soy product, this dupe doesn’t contain rosewater, which is one of the key ingredients in the Fresh Soy Cleanser.
- The product comes in the form of a cream instead of a foaming gel. This makes it less effective for people with oily skin as it’s likely to have a weaker cleansing capacity.

Sweet Chef Oat Milk Latte Cleanser
If you’ve read some of my other articles you may have come across my review of the Sweet Chef Oat Milk Latte Cleanser.
In a nutshell, it’s a gentle product that efficiently eliminates makeup and other impurities on the skin. It soothes and nourishes thanks to its brilliant formula and I would classify it as a great dupe for the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser.
It quickly became a staple in my morning routine and I’ve been using it on and off ever since.
Benefits:
- The formula of this cleanser is based on oat milk, which is a vegan-friendly milk alternative used to restore and rejuvenate dry and irritated skin. It’s soothing and moisturizing.
- The product contains vitamin B12, which strengthens the skin’s natural barrier and calms sensitive skin. I love using this product after a good chemical peel, or during a burst of acne, as it calms everything down and helps my skin restore more quickly.
- Coffee seeds in the mix are responsible for providing the antioxidants and fatty acids the skin needs.
- Hyaluronic acid locks in moisture and helps hydrate the skin, together with panthenol.
- Additional soothing properties are available thanks to the oat kernel flour in the product.
- The cleanser doesn’t contain any sulfates, parabens, fragrances, or dyes.
- It’s completely cruelty-free and vegan.
What I like:
- The product foams just enough and creates a nice, creamy lather that is a pleasure to apply. It doesn’t make the skin feel too tight or dry but rather hydrates and restores moisture.
- Again, just like the other dupes on this list, this is an affordable and accessible product, costing around $13 for a 5.07 oz bottle (150 ml).
- I love the fact that it’s designed for all skin types, meaning that anyone can benefit from its properties. The foam effectively cleanses even super oily skin, while boosting its hydration levels to prevent the skin from overproducing more oil.
What to have in mind:
- Some folks with sensitive skin have shared that they experience red patches and itchiness after regularly using the product.
- For some, it’s also a bit too drying, despite the presence of ingredients like hyaluronic acid and panthenol in the formula. So perhaps people with extra dry skin can opt for some of the other products mentioned in this list if this doesn’t end up working for you.
Belei Ultra Sensitive Purifying Face Wash
Next up on my list of Fresh Soy Cleanser dupes is the Belei Ultra Sensitive Purifying Face Wash. This product is specifically designed for ultra-sensitive skin and is created to offer irritation relief while cleansing at the same time.
If everything else feels too prickly on your face – give this a go.
Benefits:
- The gentle formula successfully extracts dirt accumulations, excess sebum, and makeup remnants from the skin. It gives you a nice, clean, and moisturized canvas on which to build your skincare routine.
- The cleanser creates the right amount of foam for the oily peeps. The texture can mostly be described as a gel that foams when in use. I tested it in summer when my skin gets extra oily, and this was an effective solution.
- There are no harsh ingredients used in this, making the product an ideal choice for people with sensitive skin – no perfume, no alcohol, no essential oils, etc.
- The price is much more acceptable and suitable for any budget, especially compared to the Fresh Soy Cleanser.
What I like:
- The cleanser is completely free from fragrance, which is a huge factor for sensitive skin.
- It’s suitable for daily use both in the morning and in the evening.
- I love the simple approach behind the creation of this product. The formula is straightforward, centered around core ingredients with proven effects – this makes it even more appropriate for sensitized or sensitive skin, as it doesn’t introduce irritants to your regime.
What to have in mind:
This is an Amazon brand, so you can only find it there, and, unfortunately, it’s not always available.
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is another Fresh Soy Cleanser dupe that I’d like to introduce you to.
Perfect for sensitive and dry skin, this substitute is completely non-irritating and works wonders for removing dirt and impurities from the skin while moisturizing it effectively.
Benefits:
- This Cetaphil cleanser is non-comedogenic – it won’t cause acne breakouts or clog your pores with long-term use. People with dry but acne-prone skin will love this.
It’s soap-free, which means it’s ideal for even the most sensitive skin types. - The product is widely recommended by dermatologists, which always gives extra peace of mind to people, both newbies, and experienced skincare enthusiasts. It’s a safe choice in the sea of skincare products out there.
- The cleanser is rated America’s #1 best-selling facial cleanser – this gotta mean something.
- The formula is pH balanced and it won’t strip your skin and make it feel the nasty kind of squeaky clean.
What I like:
- The skin truly feels fully cleansed and refreshed with this product. The formula is simple enough to not irritate the skin.
- The price is more affordable than the Fresh Soy Cleanser and costs around $18 for a huge 20 oz bottle (591 ml). Considering the quantity you get, I’d say this is a pretty good deal! It can last you for over 6 months of consistent use.
- The texture is pleasantly creamy, non-foaming, and very easy to use.
- It’s based on micellar technology – micelles extract and eliminate dirt, oil, and makeup.
- Although it’s marketed as perfect for sensitive skin, it’s also suitable for all skin types.
- The cleanser contains niacinamide, which is an anti-acne agent, and panthenol, which soothes the skin.
What to have in mind:
Some skin types may experience a mild reaction when starting to use the product. You may notice redness and slight tightness for a couple of days.

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Hydrating Daily Facial Cleanser
If you’re looking for an effective and affordable facial cleanser that will also offer an extra layer of hydration for your skin, the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Hydrating Daily Facial Cleanser is one of the best options. With a similar texture to the Fresh Soy Cleanser, this product deserves its spot on this list.
Benefits:
- The product doesn’t contain any SLS.
This is not a foaming cleanser, the texture reminds me of a gentle lotion. - The cleanser has a nice, gentle formula that won’t strip the skin of its moisture barrier. In fact, it gives an extra layer of hydration that will be enjoyed by people with dry skin.
- This product is another widely recommended cleanser by dermatologists and is suitable for acne or rosacea, as well as sensitive skin.
- It’s non-comedogenic and hypo-allergenic, so it won’t irritate your skin or lead to acne.
- There are no parabens and dyes in this, which is another benefit for people with sensitive skin who would like to avoid any chance of irritation.
What I like:
- One of the best things about this cleanser is the fact that it has a minimalistic ingredient list, making it ideal for easily irritated or sensitive skin. It straightforwardly does its job.
- It’s great at removing makeup and getting rid of excess oil and dirt while not drying up your skin.
- The affordability of this substitute must be noted, with a price of $10 for a 12 oz bottle (354 ml) – it’s another one that can last you for several months of consistent use.
- The cleanser is fragrance-free.
What to have in mind:
- While the basic formula is a positive thing for most, it does mean that there are no frills here, which might seem underwhelming to others.
- Some people describe the cleanser as too gentle, meaning that in some cases it won’t remove all impurities and could potentially leave some makeup behind. I would suggest either applying it twice or introducing a proper oil-based first-step cleanser if you’re using makeup and applying sunscreen daily.
INKEY List Oat Cleansing Balm
Last but not least – the Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm is created for dry, sensitive, and normal skin. This dupe efficiently tackles concerns like redness, dryness, acne, blemishes, and irritation.
It does so with the help of two ingredients – 3% oat kernel oil and 1% colloidal oatmeal. This help to effectively cleanse the skin while softening and soothing the skin at the same time. Additionally, it has ceramides to further support skin barrier recovery, so people with acne-prone skin will definitely love this.
Benefits:
- A vegan and cruelty-free cleanser, this balm is preferred by a lot of skincare enthusiasts.
- The product is effective at removing makeup and sunscreen and purifies sensitive skin.
- The formula moisturizes the skin, reduces redness, and calms down irritated patches. It contains oleic and linoleic acids – well-known skin-nourishing fatty acids that can build up your damaged skin.
What I like:
- This cleanser has a lightweight lotion consistency that is fun and easy to use daily. It feels rich but melts in your fingers easily, giving you a nice application.
- This is the only product in our list of Fresh Soy Face Cleanser dupes that can effectively deal with makeup and sunblock, making it a great first-step cleanser.
- It’s considered a luxurious product because of its texture and the way it feels when applied, although its price is affordable – 5 oz (150 ml) for $11.
What to have in mind:
Some people report that they’re not pleased with the consistency of this product but this is totally subjective and up to personal preference.
For me, it was a bit stiff, but for the price, amount, and overall experience, I say it’s one of the best dupes of the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser.
INKEY List Oat Cleansing Balm is Available on Amazon and FeelUnique.
I hope these Fresh Soy Cleanser dupes will help you test and experiment with a few other alternatives to the popular and well-loved cleanser.
The list is made of cleansers that are supposed to help you save some money, yet allow you to enjoy similar results as Fresh’s product.
